What We Said In Session This Week
Erin and I are inviting you inside our therapy notebooks. Below is a collection of thoughts and phrases that have stuck with us recently. These are things we’ve written down in our notebooks or said out loud in sessions that continue to resonate with us. There is no order to them. Our hope is that as you read through, one or two may prompt reflection or connect with you.

If you’re going to create negative scenarios, at least be fair and create a few positive ones too.
Just because someone thinks something about you, it doesn’t make it true.
That works for them. It doesn’t need to work for you.
Does one bad day erase all your progress?
You are not responsible for their emotions.
We get to choose: to focus on the hypothetical “what ifs” or to focus on what is right now.
If being hard on yourself worked it would have worked by now.
Think about future you. What’s one thing you can do tonight for future you that offers a sense of relief or acknowledgment?
Panic takes our mind to the future or has us dwell in our past. What are tools that help you engage in the present?
